Moving into a new home or out of your old home can be full of emotions. Excitement about what is to come. Nervousness about the unknown. Maybe even sadness about what you are leaving behind…And then there’s the stress about cleaning up the mess.

Town & Country Cleaning has more than 3 decades of experience getting homes ready for their next chapter. As with our one time and deep cleans, moving cleans don’t look all that different from a check list standpoint. What is different is the amount of effort it takes to make things shine. Many times we are having to remove build up of dust and grime to get to the surfaces we are working on. This nearly always takes more time than a Standard House Clean.

In bathrooms this means dusting from top to bottom. Baseboards are wet wiped to eliminate build up. Next our technician gives a thorough scrubbing of bathtubs and shower enclosures. This includes detailing and cleaning shower doors, tracks, and polishing metal fixtures. Following this, a streak free cleaning of all mirrors and the sink/vanity area. Toilets are scrubbed until they are clean and sanitary. Finally, the floors are vacuumed and mopped.

In kitchens, our House Cleaning Technicians begin by dusting high to low areas, using an extension duster where necessary. Next, they will clean the interior of the microwave. Cabinets and knobs are wiped down, as well as countertops and backsplashes. The sink and drain are cleaned and buffed. Next the stove top is degreased and wiped down. Then all appliances and stainless steel surfaces are polished to eliminate smudges. Finally floors are vacuumed and mopped. 

Through the rest of your home you can expect to see detailed dusting. Window fixtures and blinds will be dusted. Cobwebs removed. Baseboards will be dry dusted, and then spot cleaned as necessary. Floors are vacuumed, as well as mopped when appropriate. Beds will be made, if they are there, and trash will be taken out.

Moving can be stressful enough. You have enough details to worry about in arranging movers, finding that missing box of dishes, and learning where to find the best food. We can take care of the cleaning, as well as recommend great places to eat around you.

Important Notes

There are some things to be aware of:

Work on ladders: For the safety of our House Cleaning Technicians, and because of insurance limitations we cannot go beyond the height of a 3 step ladder for hand cleaning fixtures and surfaces. We use extension dusters to clean areas beyond our reach that can reach about 14 ft.

Moving appliances: We will endeavor to get the areas around appliances with extension dusters. However we will not move large appliances in order to prevent damage to flooring.

Detrashing: We will take light trash out to your trash bins or dumpsters, but we are not equipped to cart away large amounts of trash. If we are cleaning the inside of your refrigerator, please empty it. Please clearly mark anything to be left behind for the new owner.
