True Story – Cleaners and a Cat!

A great story from one of our venerable colleagues (Charleston, SC) in the professional house cleaning industry.  After years of working with the house cleaners on our staff, I know…
You just can’t make this stuff up.

Cat plays hide and seek

Laughter really is the best medicine.  On a recent stressful day, this made me laugh till I cried.  Sorry about the giggles, Tom, but I can so relate and sympathize with your plight!

Our House Cleaning Staff recalls the Town & Country Dog Story

In our case (which happened early in our business, too) the escape artist was a really cute but mischievous small dog.  ‘Scamp’ (name changed to protect the guilty) was much beloved by our staff, but of course, even more beloved by one of our Chapel Hill cleaning service customers.  Like Tom’s company, we also had those pet cautions on the work order, but this cunning little guy knew our routine and had plotted accordingly.

He hid by the door and dashed out before we could block his path with the vacuum which he normally shunned.  After many anxious hours of searching the neighborhood and calling his name, the family finally sent us home.  We were chagrined and anxious.  Tom’s description of the pit-of-stomach feeling is so apt.

The anti-climatic ending?  Just a little later, Scamp finally got hungry and came home — to everyone’s enormous relief.  And…the crew was prepared the next time and pushed the dreaded vacuum through the door before they crossed the threshold themselves.  No more freedom-dashes.  Sorry Scamp.
